The VERY Helpful Troubleshooting Guide
for Listening to KFNN
We urge you to work through these problems before you contact us.
These are the steps we'll walk you through first.
1. I can't access the stream. It won't work!
2. I have all of the latest and greatest updates and it still
won’t work!
3. I'm getting a "session expired" error.
4. I have a Mac, what do I do?
5. What are the minimum requirements for the streams?
6. What information do I need to configure my firewall?
7. Is it my pop-up blocker?
8. I'm running a Linux box. What about me?
1. First
things first. If anything on the web (including our player)
doesn't work on the first try, refresh your browser by hitting
'F5' on your keyboard.
Next, you may not have the latest versions of the critical software
needed to access the online media. Always check your system for the
latest updates vailable for Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player.

2.
Check all of the suggestions below:
a. Please make sure and use only Internet Explorer to
access the online player. If you use an AOL browser, a browser
with frames like Hotmail, or any other specialized/altered
browser, you may not be able to get the online player to work
properly. Just make sure and open a new window of Internet
Explorer before you try to open the player and/or website.
b. Make sure you don't have a pop-up blocker
on your system, it will prevent the login screen and
player from opening. If you do have a pop-up blocker
on your system, either temporarily disable it or hold
down the "ctrl" key while clicking to open the login
screen or player. If the "ctrl" key doesn't work, consult
the directions found in your pop-up blocker "read me" file.
Make sure you don't have a "FunWebProducts" application
installed on your system. It will prevent your player
from working.
c. Check your internet connection speed, it
might be extremely slow at the time you tried to access
the player. This can cause the media to "never" play
(actually, it's constantly buffering). If you are using
a dial-up connection (modem), you will usually get
varying connection speeds. Often, the speed is much
slower than your 28k or 56k modem is capable of producing.
We recommend calling your 'isp' (internet service provider)
to inquire about alternate dial-in numbers. Hopefully,
they will have several numbers with which to get a
better connect speed.
3. Please
make sure the following steps are followed to ensure access to
the media stream.
IE for Windows:
a. Click on 'tools', which is
located on the IE 5 menu bar
b. Select 'internet options'
c. Click the 'security' tab
d. Click on the 'custom level' button
e. Configure the categories by following
